Explore Inca engineering behind the Salt Mines and Moray Terraces
Maras and Moray Tour Itinerary
Cusco - Chinchero - Moray - Maras - Cusco
We'll begin the day at our 8:00 a.m. meeting point in Regocijo Square and head to the Sacred Valley by private transport. Enjoy stunning views of snow-capped mountains, traditional Andean villages, and golden farmlands along the way.
Our first stop will be Chinchero, a town known for its well-preserved ruins and vibrant textile tradition. You'll witness a live demonstration of Andean weaving using natural dyes, an experience that offers insight into centuries-old cultural techniques.
We'll go to Moray, a circular Inca site believed to have been an agricultural research center. Explore the giant terraces, take photos, and learn how the Incas used this space to adapt crops to different altitudes and climates.
Next, we'll visit the impressive Salineras de Maras, where thousands of geometrically shaped salt pools are still exploited by local families. Your guide will explain the traditional salt extraction process, which dates back to the Inca era. This is the perfect spot for panoramic photos.
After a morning full of adventure and discovery, we will return to Cusco in the early afternoon, dropping you off at Plaza Regocijo or at your hotel if you have arranged in advance and it is located near downtown Cusco.
